O Prémio SPGH é atribuído anualmente e tem por objectivo premiar um investigador que seja primeiro autor e com primeira afiliação a uma instituição portuguesa no artigo científico subjacente à candidatura de um trabalho original relevante na área da genética humana, publicado em revista internacional indexada no ano anterior ao da realização da Reunião Anual da SPGH (ver regulamento).
